We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-directed, data-driven Sr. Event Marketing Manager to plan and manage the strategy and execution of digital and in-person events. This role will reside in London and will build and own customer engagement events in the UK and Europe within the industry demand gen (formerly vertical and product marketing) team. The role will manage events for brands and agencies that will feature advertising best practices, customer case studies, thought leadership, networking, and inspire advertisers to grow their brands with us. Success in this role requires the ability to define an events strategy, set customer-centric campaign goals, provide excellent project management skills, maintain a keen eye for compelling and innovative content, and possess a passion for continuous improvement. This person will need to have an entrepreneurial nature to try new and different things with minimal direction. Overall, this role will be challenged to push boundaries, propose and execute new ideas, and establish best practices.
This role will join a global event team supporting customer engagement events, and will own relationship management and event strategy in the UK and Europe, helping deepen customer relationships. Events will feature advertising best practices, customer case studies, thought leadership, and inspire advertisers to grow their relationship with us.
This role will own event strategy for their locales, including developing and executing on an event plan that delivers on business and customer goals. This includes (but is not limited to) program management, logistics, internal/external communications, and experience development. This role will require strong collaboration and influencing skills as it partners across stakeholder teams and locales to define event strategy, program, and sponsorship needs, and to impact long-term customer experience.
You will define goals and objectives, metrics, post-event wrap ups, reporting, and analysis. To be successful you will need to be comfortable establishing clear processes, set prioritization in an ambiguous environment, write and communicate effectively, and work across time zones. The right candidate will be a self-starter and have strong interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills.
The ideal candidate will be metrics-driven with strong ownership and focus, with the ability to prioritize effectively and communicate clearly and persuasively. This person is able to deliver results and program excellence beyond the events they own, driving event marketing strategy for colleagues in marketing, sales, and product teams. If you dedicate the same level of excellence to simple events as you would large, complex events, and enjoy owning the entire event management process from inception to completion, this role is for you! This position does not have any direct reports.
Key job responsibilities
· Influence and align with key stakeholders across Europe (UK, DE, FR, IT, ES) on event strategies, including owned (Amazon-hosted), and third party events.
· Manage end-to-end planning and execution of events, including strategic planning, event marketing, budget, logistics, communications, event tech, gifting, onsite execution, playbooks, analytics/ROI.
· Own event strategy; develop event marketing plans that achieve marketing team and shared goals.
· Build processes for repeatability and scalability of events activities.
· Think big to deliver new ideas and creative approaches to constantly improve the customer experience.
· Drive and deliver quarterly and event-level documents.
A day in the life
In this role, you will deliver high-quality customer-facing events with frugality, continually testing, measuring, scaling, and evolving your event programs. You will own relationships and event strategy while building a hospitality strategy that can scale across locales. This role includes end-to-end event strategy and program management; you are the single threaded owner for all event components. In addition to managing events, you will contribute to internal strategy documents, ideation sessions across the team, and drive operational excellence across the team.

· 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
· 6+ years’ experience owning and scaling events
· Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
· Experience using and presenting data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
· Capable of directly owning and managing all elements of an event from conception to measurement, including but not limited to: strategy, project management, vendor negotiation and management, production, event registration, data gathering/reporting, evaluations, speaker engagement, cross-functional partnering
· High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, creating a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
· Able to influence at multiple levels without authority
· Thrives in an ambiguous environment; can independently remove blockers and make decisions autonomously
· Passion for customers and creating a memorable experience
· Moves easily between generating big, creative ideas to driving process improvement, to executing event details and administration
· Demonstrated ability to manage complex and highly visible projects
· Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PPT
· Ability to travel domestically & internationally and work across time zones
· Ability to attend in person events that require vaccination status based upon the location and third party event regulations.
· Experience in the advertising industry or digital marketing.
· Ability to speak and write in more than one language (e.g. English + German, French, Spanish, or Italian)
