the Information Security organization is expanding at P&G, and we seek a talented Senior Director to join our staff! As a part of our growth, we are investing heavily in Data Protection to enable the enterprise to deliver products and services to our customers with security in mind. This new team’s sole function is dedicated to Data protection and is being created to reflect its importance to our organization.
The Senior Director of Data Protection is responsible for building the new Data protection team, blending extensive Data protection experience with a strong Information Security background. This leader will help build out a team that serves P&G ‘s best interests by balancing security with empowering the business. Additionally, this individual will collaborate with senior leaders to drive data protection maturity, implement privacy controls, and ensure process excellence as we manage global privacy risk and compliance across the enterprise.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Building and developing the new, fast-growing Data Protection team
- Improve and scale the global privacy and data protection program in partnership with other key functions, such as Legal, HR, etc.
- Tool rationalization and develop secure solutions for data protection – encryption, key management, DLP, access controls & monitoring, etc
- Implementing and leading team processes to enable delivery of the Data protection road map initiatives
- Determine current and anticipate future data needs and develop security controls in collaboration with data protection team
- Educate data owners and key business stake holders on data identification, secure handling, storage, and transfer of sensitive data
- Collaborating across Information Security and Data Analytics teams to advocate for Data Protection

- on capability and maturity requirements to meet organizational needs, and inform the strategy to hire, build, or buy the right resources to meet those requirements
- Sponsor and oversee large, cross-functional projects involving data governance, data protection, and data rights request tools and settings for our privacy-conscious customer base
- Bring an automation-first mindset to champion and drive rollout of data protection tooling, privacy engineering concepts, and process improvements across privacy operations
- Serve as a point of escalation for your team, identify opportunities to address systemic challenges, and equip your team to drive issue resolution
Qualifications
- Demonstrated Information Security understanding and specifically industry best practices for the development of data protection team
- Understanding and prior experience in one or more of the following preferred: DLP, encryption, cloud access security broker (CASB), Access Controls, Data Classification, audit and monitoring
- One or more Information Security Certifications preferred: CISSP, CSSLP, CISM, CCSP, GSLC, GSEC, CISA
- Proven experience leading and managing innovative teams of highly technical professionals
- 15+ years in privacy, security, or a related field
- A strong ability to dig into personal data and data flows from a technical perspective
- Master knowledge of privacy best practices, and working knowledge of major legal frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
- Demonstrated experience educating and working directly with executive leadership on strategic initiatives
- Strong people and project management skills, including the ability to coordinate complex, company-wide plans requiring deep cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to translate privacy standards out of compliance speak and into functional requirements
- Experience with technical implementation of privacy controls, ability to quickly spot privacy issues in complex security projects, working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts
- Prior experience working on global projects, or in an international setting
- Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to solve open-ended problems
- Impeccable communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to swiftly transition between projects and tasks
- Intrinsic curiosity and an eagerness to learn new technologies and skills
- Familiarity with cloud architectures, including cloud network segmentation and cloud data security controls
