We are building an internal Digital Product Design capability for Colgate-Palmolive, and this role is critical to the foundation of this new capability. You will lead projects and programs that deliver our digital brand experience. You will direct the design of our digital products, platforms and tools that amplify our brands and solve needs for end users. You are equal parts leader, researcher, designer.

 

You understand business and brand strategy and are able to translate it into people-driven product and brand experiences that exceed objectives. As a designer, you have a great eye and a strong technical ability for crafting delightful, highly visual and easy-to-use digital experiences.

 

Our Global Design team is responsible for the Colgate-Palmolive global portfolio of products which are found in 75% of every home in the world. We have brands across Oral Care, Personal Care, Home Care, Skin Health and Pet Nutrition categories.

 

 

Reporting:

To the Head of Digital Design within Global Design.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct the work of design contributors by effectively communicating creative strategy to influence design solutions. Balance creative thinking with sensitivity to user-centric design and brand experience.
  • Co-define and design the future of our digital design process by formalizing workflow, training other designers, and sharing best practices
  • Convert and communicate user needs via design artifacts like presentations, user flows, storyboards, wireframes, prototypes and UI specifications
  • Bring strong, user-centered design skills to translate conceptual ideas into exceptional design solutions at scale
  • Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and project stakeholders for review and feedback
  • Champion Colgate-Palmolive’s design-integrated philosophy and standards.
  • Identify and support the conduct of a diverse range of User Research to help make better data-driven design decisions and better products. Identify gaps and opportunities in the UX and user journeys.
  • Model the relationship for collaboration between Experience and Engineering capabilities
  • Influence feature development by working with business, IT and QA teams to advocate for the prioritization of design centered changes, refinements, and improvements.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in design-related topic or equivalent years work experience
  • 7+ years professional experience in digital design agency, digital product company, brand or related creative industry.
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating experience leading and managing the design of complex systems across multiple platforms, including mobile and touch-based interfaces
  • Experience leading design teams and communicating with executives, through the full cycle of design, from strategy through execution, development, and market introduction
  • Proven skills in user research, conceptual design, interaction design, information architecture, and visual design
  • Conversational understanding of front and back-end development technologies.
  • Ability to self-manage and handle competing priorities
  • Team player who excels at collaboration and enjoys mentoring other designers.
  • Strong presentation skills; confident ability to present to stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to distill ambiguous briefs into tangible requirements and deliverables
  • Expert knowledge of necessary software applications and platforms. (Figma, Trello, Jira, Miro, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Experience working in an agile environment (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
