Job Purpose and Impact

The SeniorSoftware Engineer - Javawillwork with product managers to understand new features within the product and the engineering team to validate design. In this role will join a passionate, empowered engineering product team that discover and deliver solutions to complex customer problems. The Digital Experience Platform (DXP) enables Cargill to quickly build customer facing applications that are secure, scalable and at a competitive cost. The DXP enables Cargill’s digital future.

Key Accountabilities

• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
• Implement modern engineering practices to ensure product quality practices.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to understand and evaluate business requirements.
• Establish governance check points, best practices and standards.
• Provide designs, prototypes and implementations incorporating software engineering best practices, tools and monitoring according to industry standards.
• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Mentoring and supporting Other Engineers on the team.
• Other duties in support of building solutions that solve customer problems.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of four years of related work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field ORequivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience developing in Java
• Experience building systems using microservices or service oriented architecture patterns
• Experience in an agile software development environment
• Able to write automated unit and integration tests

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing scalable cloud based systems
• Development experience using open-source technologies and frameworks
• Experience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, automated application deployment, monitoring, telemetry, logging, reporting and dashboarding
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools
• Experience in building high performance applications that are scalable and resilient
• Ability to create clear and detailed technical diagrams and documentation
