The Senior Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management over the entire life-cycle of the projects they manage.  They will manage multiple projects in one or more of the business verticals in Cox Automotive Mobility Solutions.  This role requires the ability to envision the ‘big picture’ and interface with executive, business, functional and Cox Automotive leadership to materialize the overall focus of the program in support of the business strategy.  Mobility Solutions is growing through acquisitions and requires a dynamic individual who can leverage their expertise to drive decision making on all aspects of the project activities, coordinate across multiple teams and mitigate risk.

 

The ideal candidate has experience in executing large, complex enterprise projects, be well versed in project management methodology, have a rich background of project success, and thrive in a dynamic environment. The Senior Project Manager must possess the ability to find creative solutions to issues that jeopardize program goals/business objectives or timing, within budget or resource constraints.  The role relies upon experience in relationship management, master plan management, communications, change management, delivery execution and benefits realization.

 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

 

PREPARE & MAINTAIN THE PROJECT PLAN

•             Establish and maintain a working partnership with business owners, executives, and project teams to rationalize business objectives & business priorities.

•             Establish a plan for project tracking and control including processes for management of the program.

•             Translate project objectives into integrated plans, schedules, and budgets.

•             Oversees the overall management of related projects specific to the defined program.

•             Produces relevant project management deliverables such as project objectives, business case, project charter, risk assessment plan, stakeholder assessment, communication plans, issue/risk logs, benefits tracking, and project status reports.

•             Provide guidance to the team on development and execution of project plans and leads; supports initiatives with well-defined project needs and cross-functional roles/responsibilities throughout the project life cycle.

•             Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.

•             Ensure financial health of the projects by preparing budgets, forecasting expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions in partnership with finance.

PROVIDE LEADERSHIP & DIRECTION FOR THE PROJECT TEAM

•             Effectively operate in a matrix and in fluid environments, proactive and forward thinking.

•             Simultaneously manage work across multiple threads of the organization.

•             Communicate the project objectives, priorities and direction to all stakeholders.

•             Ensure planned, regular, and effective communication of status, issues, risks, and actions among all persons and parties involved in the program.

•             Establishes and manages a program level change control process that allows for submission of changes and impact assessment of changes.

•             Continuously monitor development process and proactively work to identify and resolve issues within the projects and across programs.

•             Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

•             Bachelor’s degree in technical, business, or management

•             7+ years’ experience in a related field

•             5+ years’ experience in project management

•             Demonstrated experience in leading large, complex enterprise projects to successful execution

•             Strong networking and relationship management for effective stakeholder management

•             Business leadership skills including decision making, problem solving and resource management

•             Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•             Strong presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills

•             Strong customer service skills; frequent interactions with senior level internal customers

•             Ability to understand, interpret, manage, and communicate technical and business team’s needs, concerns, risk, issues and collisions across all departments

•             Experience in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating complex team efforts

•             Effective “consultative” and influential approach, combined with action-oriented passion for speed

•             Experience applications such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio) required

•            

Preferred Qualifications:

•             PMP certification (in good standing)

•             Master’s degree preferred, but not required

•             Experience with M&A or large-scale business change events
