Amazon is seeking an experienced International Benefits Program Manager to join our Global Benefits team. This role will include responsibilities for the management and delivery of international family-focused benefits offerings. Scope of role includes design and delivery of Amazon's international family care benefits strategy and programs outside the US. It will include resolution of escalated issues, vendor management, implementation, design and effective collaboration with the appropriate functional areas within the company and external consultants and administrators. This is a hands-on position that will involve innovation and facilitation of activities through multiple key initiatives to create and enhance Amazon’s benefits programs and services. This role will also seek to enhance the employee experience, drive greater efficiencies in cost management, and identify new opportunities to meet the needs of our rapidly growing international businesses.
Core Responsibilities:
· Benefit Program Management and Design – responsible for designing multi-country benefit programs that align to Amazon’s Global Benefits Framework, market practice and compliance requirements. This includes participating in design proposals and cost impact analyses, influencing internal stakeholders to receive input and feedback on recommendations, including the taxability and compliance of proposed benefit programs in different jurisdictions.
· Implementation – responsible for implementation of approved multi-country benefit programs and vendors, including selection and contracting of benefit providers, creating project plans, assembling resources, and developing and documenting processes and policies through stabilization period to ensure smooth transition to plan administration teams.
· Governance and Compliance – ensure programs align to Amazon’s benefit philosophy and meet local regulatory requirements in all countries. This also includes monitoring costs, financial impact, future funding requirements, competitiveness, ensuring adherence with regulatory, legal and best practice approaches.
· Vendor Management – manage international benefits vendor relationships, costs and performance across all countries and business lines. Hold vendors to account against service levels and operate as first point of contact between Amazon and the vendors.
· Program Ownership – demand from across countries and business lines for support with both proactive and reactive family care initiatives is significant and increasing as Amazon grows internationally. This role will coordinate family care program delivery across international, working with our vendors and communications team to developing on-demand resources as well as providing urgent access to support in the event of a crisis or emergency.
· Innovation – this position will drive our experimentation plans in international benefits, identifying and designing new programs that have broad impact across countries, as well as enhancing existing family care programs to meet the changing needs of our workforce.
· Educated to degree level.
· 5+ years of experience working with employee benefits.
· Experience with large-scale multi-country employee program development and delivery.
· Excellent English written and verbal communications skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
· Ability to influence business leaders. Ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences.
· Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy of discretion through ambiguous phases of expansion project development.
· Strong sense of accountability, sound personal judgement and global business acumen.
· Great organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.
· Proven abilities in vendor management and establishing effective partnerships with external service providers to ensure quality service to Amazon.
· Ability to thinking creatively and demonstrate a bias for innovation.
· 10+ years of experience working within global benefits development, administration and program governance.
· Detailed knowledge of employee benefit plan design along with associated complexities of international plan administration, associated payroll processes, country level regulatory requirements and benefits program taxability.
· Successful record of designing, implementing and optimizing large-scale international benefit programs.
· Focus on driving program efficiency along with measuring and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
