Job Overview:
This position is for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to perform procurement of parts and equipment associated with a Department of Defense contract. The successful candidate will work with mechanical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, a can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate. This position is anticipated to require travel to Client offices, vendor facilities, and project job sites.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate within the engineering group and other disciplines and groups independently in developing procurement packages in a team environment.
Resolve technical issues and requests from equipment and parts vendors, including any required interface with other disciplines, groups, suppliers, and the customer.
Review, and disposition supplier/vendor submittals.
Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work products.
Support development of project cost and schedule estimates, as necessary.
Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.
Basic Qualifications:
Level 1 - BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related), from an accredited university, with at least 6 years of design experience.
Level 2 - BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related), from an accredited university, with at least 9 years of design experience.
Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
US citizenship required.
Must have the ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with procurement of Mechanical equipment and parts under the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards, as well as Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.
Broad knowledge of the application of Mechanical engineering design principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated flexibility in work assignments.
Registered Professional Engineer in the USA (Mechanical or related Engineering).
Working knowledge, and experience with, the Bechtel Procurement System.
Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
Possess an active security clearance.
