As the First Mile Optimization Senior Analyst, you will support Target\'s Domestic First Mile Transportation network by anticipating future business needs, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement, and developing strategies to improve efficiencies by optimizing performance and expense. This role would gather and analyze data to solve highly complex business problems, model and evaluate multiple scenarios to predict and plan for future outcomes and support decision making. This role provides thought leadership and uses data to influence peers and leaders, driving toward action and leading key partners toward the right business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Recommend solutions to business problems based on analyzing large data models, data mining, leveraging optimization tools, machine learning techniques, and statistics
• Build and conduct simulations of supply chain under new parameters to understand impact of proposed changes to supply chain performance and make appropriate recommendations specific to transportation
• Use data mining and statistical modeling to research inputs and develop scenarios for simulation models
• Conduct analysis on current and new projects impacting the supply chain network specifically transportation
• Use historical trend data and future commitments to determine volumes and shifts to ensure necessary capacity requirements meet business needs.
• Use data and metrics to understand the business, identify areas in need of improvement, support others and measure the impact of our actions
• Think about problems and solutions creatively and without bias for the way things are now
• Influence leaders by providing accurate data analysis and interpretation with well-founded insights
• Identify roadblocks and communicate proactively to key stakeholders alerting them of potential delays
• Partner closely with other Optimization Super Users to implement strategy and parameter changes within Blue Yonder Transportation Manager

Desired Requirements

• 4-year degree; preferably in supply chain, math, statistics, analytics, engineering and/or computer science
• Transportation Systems experience desired, including working knowledge of Blue Yonder transportation management solutions
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate with multiple business partners (internal and external)
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• High level of curiosity, initiative and the desire to learn end to end processes to drive improvements
• Ability to be resilient and adaptable, working through ambiguity and change in a fast-paced operations environment
• Prefer candidates with previous Supply Chain experience / exposure, specifically Transportation
• Proven ability using data to drive improvement in an operational environment
• Experience in Supply Chain Planning, Operations, or Inventory Management is preferred
• Scripting experience with at least one of the following or similar: R, SAS, Python, SQL, and proprietary BI platforms (similar to Tableau)
• Advanced Excel skills with ability to analyze large volumes of data and draw meaningful conclusions or insights
• Process-oriented with strong analytical skills
• Strong root-cause analysis track record and the ability to problem solve independently
• Advocate for decisions based on what is good for Target holistically and act as agents for change instead of accepting the status quo
