A role in Target’s Food Supply Chain is a chance to truly serve our guests with speed, freshness and quality. We strengthen the efficiency of product delivery to provide the highest quality food products to our guests—on time, every time. Here, your role might be extracting business insights from data, solving problem statements, conducting gap analysis and recommending focus areas for leadership. Or you’ll be an inventory management resource whose specialized point of view informs what we buy, from whom, how much and where it needs to go from there. You’ll leverage new data and reporting to achieve the best possible product availability, and develop great relationships with our vendors/distributors to encourage on-time delivery in full. 

PRIMARY FUNCTION

As the Sr. Inventory Analyst within the DSD team you’ll have the opportunity to scope, develop, test, and implement strategies to improve inventory reliability within our Direct-Store-Delivery assortment. You will work with key vendor partners while collaborating across Target’s internal Food and Beverage teams to drive sustainable improvements to the Inventory team’s processes and the systems used to support decision making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Use your skills, experience, and creativity to develop innovative solutions and provide a best-in-class guest experience. As a Sr. Inventory Analyst for DSD, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leveraging strong project management skills to scope, scale, analyze, and create solutions addressing root cause to Direct-Store-Delivery related initiatives and projects.
  • Partnering closely with various teams across the organization including Food Supply Chain, Merchandising, Store Ops, and many others to develop and execute key strategic priorities while serving as a key support partner of the core business unit of Buyers, Planners, and Core Inventory Analysts
  • Be a key thought partner in the evolution of reporting to support DSD execution for stores, vendors and distributors
  • Leveraging strong data analytics skills to break down problems and influence business decisions
  • Regularly managing multiple timing and actions supporting different project milestones and deadlines ensuring each project stays on track to delivering key objectives
  • Utilizing strong communication skills to regularly keep project sponsors and leadership teams informed of project progress and completion
  • Driving DSD reliability metrics while coaching and developing L4 Inventory Analysts on DSD execution

About you:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 or more years Inventory Management experience
  • Understanding of store backroom process and store DSD receiving process preferred
  • Self-starter with strong organization skills and ability to work independently to prioritize and take action
  • Strong data analytics skills with a drive to continue to dig until a root cause is identified
  • Highly accountable and demonstrated ability to lead through others to drive sustainable improvement
  • Strong ability to build partnerships and collaborate across the organization and external partners
  • Flexibility & resiliency; comfortable working in ‘grey areas’ that are constantly changing
  • Direct communication skills and demonstrated ability to tailor communication to different levels of leaders and audiences
  • Desire to learn new capabilities and enabling others to do the same
