Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst supports the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Financial Reporting team. This position is integral to the financial reporting processes and financial analysis of DVC, including providing support in the areas of journal entry review, G/L account reconciliations, analyses of G/L accounts and variances, and preparation of financial results presentations. This position will also partner with various stakeholders to support new business opportunities, systems projects, and identify and execute process improvements.

Financial Reporting is the organization within the Controllership that leads and facilitates the segment’s financial reporting processes, including the production of all deliverables and supporting analysis for SEC reporting and segment management reporting. In addition, the team has direct responsibility over the financial statement consolidation of the individual financial reporting processes for business areas within the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products segment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial results
  • Process journal entries, prepare account reconciliations, and assist with ad-hoc requests and/or projects related to the financial statements and technical accounting guidance
  • Perform various control and compliance procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements, including, but not limited to, account reconciliations, journal entries, hierarchy setup and maintenance, Minimum Control Standards questionnaires, and legal entity reporting
  • Take ownership of segment deliverables
  • Perform complex key analytics to inform Executive Management team of business results
  • Provide guidance and lead ad-hoc requests and/or special projects for DVC, Segment Financial Reporting, and other Controllership initiatives
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Maintain documentation for business processes
  • Lead process improvement efforts
  • Serve as a liaison between Finance and Financial Reporting
  • Acts as a coach and mentor for other team members

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting, internal controls, and close processes
  • Ability to prepare and present information to support decision making
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills and ability to prioritize deliverables effectively while keeping all stakeholders adequately informed
  • Ability to adapt quickly, work independently, take ownership, and work in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, proficiency using Excel (pivot tables, Match Index, H-&V-lookups, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Timeshare industry experience
  • Experience with SAP and DVC systems (FIS, OMS)
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access
  • CPA preferred

Required Education

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field

  • MBA
  • Master of Accountancy
