We are seeking an exceptional Senior Design Manager with a proven track record for delivering usable, seamless, and impactful design solutions, deeply rooted in customer needs. Candidates will work with other designers, PM leadership and Engineering leadership to create forward thinking design strategy, user scenario driven features, and meet business goals. At the core of this job candidates will identify user cantered design patterns, establish scenarios, place designs into user context and create interactions that align to those requirements. Candidates must be able to articulate their thinking using a variety of mediums from information diagrams, wireframe flows to detailed prototypes. You will need to show attention to detail and passion in the work you produce. A solid understanding of graphic/visual design is advantageous.

• Lead a group of designers in delivering world-class interaction designs from initial concept through to shipping.
• Guide and facilitate strategic design direction for multiple feature areas in SharePoint.
• Help solve complex design problems in simple and intuitive ways, blending together brand personality, visual, motion and sound to create delightful experiences.
• Represent Microsoft Teams design and connect our product and features to other teams throughout Microsoft.
• Work closely and constructively with program management leadership and engineering leadership to ensure overall business strategy is on track and smooth delivery of designs.
• Advocate for design in context of business and user goals.

Qualifications

• 12+ years’ experience in interactive design, information architecture, visual design.
• Experience in software design leadership and management.
• Have solid IA and visual design skills alongside familiarity with major research practices.
• History of impacting shipping products with your work.
• Graphic/visual design experience.
• Design or HCI degree, or comparable work experience
