The Role

As Squad Leader for Investment Proxy Research within the FFIO Fund Administration domain, you blend strong investment services and technology expertise with a passion for delivering results. FFIO’s proxy application strives to provide a comprehensive and intuitive set of features to support account set up and ballot reconciliation processes. It also tracks our engagements with portfolio companies in support of our proxy research and voting functions.

As the product owner you are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities.

You will ensure alignment on the “what” and “when” work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.

• Establishing strong relationship with stakeholders including service line teams within and across domains, client relationship management and other technology chapters like architecture and engineering
• Leveraging your experience and background to quickly learn and gain a good understanding of the subject matter area including the upstream and downstream platforms, data ingestion, processing, and delivery mechanisms
• Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team
• Clearly communicating with service line teams, clients and other stakeholders on the plan, dependencies, risks, and progress while the squad executes iteratively on the product roadmap
• Empathizing with users of the investment proxy application and the squad members on their challenges while inspecting and evaluating progress, and removing impediments
• Measuring performance against established objectives and KPI’s that deliver on agreed upon business, technology, and people results
• Collaborating and coordinating with Chapter Leaders and Scrum Masters to build squad capacity and capability and enabling squad member growth, development, and learning
• Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5–8+ years of work experience
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic products and solutions
• Agile experience
• Financial services experience preferred
• Jira and Jira Align experience preferred
• You have a strong knowledge of mutual funds, holdings
• You have hands-on experience with databases and web services
• You are passionate about optimizing business processes and data flows
• You take a data-focused approach to understanding customer needs, translate strategic objectives into action, and prioritize to improve value delivered
• You grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria and optimally communicate these
• You have a strong focus on execution and identify, communicate, and remove impediments to progress
• You are capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building high-performing teams
• You continuously improve and encourage an agile way of working
• You establish and maintain unquestioning relationships as you work collaboratively across Fidelity to deliver business outcomes and seek out the expertise of colleagues to advise on your approach
