Position Summary

Elida Beauty markets a wide and global portfolio of personal care products.We are looking for a specification developer to manage the product lifecycle management (PLM) system which holds the R&D specifications associated with these products. These specifications are essential for the efficient running of the business, providing the details of the raw materials and packaging materials, the recipes and how the final product should be filled into which pack with which label. Much of the data will be populated directly by the packaging and formulation team as part of innovation projects, and the PLM system will provide input into the overall company masterdata  managementprocess. The successful candidate will monitor the quality of the R&D input and will work with third parties to ensure all R&D data are uploaded and flow effectively into the MDMprocess..The R&D master data in this PLM system feeds many associated self-serviceapplications ,such as ingredient tracking, ingredient labelling, costings, environmental metrics and metrics on the  use of plastics, safety and regulatory data and the business will look to you to provide expertise and support in making these data available to end users in the business.

Role Accountabilities

-responsible for the operation of the R&D PLM system, maintaining good practice in data entry and quality, implementing change management procedures, retiring redundantdataand ensuring efficient interfacing with the overall company MDM process

-after training to be fully proficient in the writing of and quality standards requiredfor  allthe R&D specifications 

-manage third party resources to ensure the full hierarchy of R&D specifications is complete, contributing to their writing when this is the most efficient approach

-manage the regular updating and retirement of specifications and ensuring seamless interfacing with the overall company MDM process

-work closely with third party manufacturers of our products and Elida Beauty procurement team to ensure R&D specifications reflect current manufacturing. To work with product formulationteamsprovide guidance on alternative raw materials to counter supply shortages or cost savings opportunities.

-provide expert support to help end users use analytical tools linked to the R&DPLM master data and work with IT team and external vendors to enhance this capability to meet evolving business needs in terms of safety/regulatory conformance monitoring, cost savings, environmental metrics, label text etc., seeking every opportunity to automate routine data analytical requirements

-provide timely support for innovation projects to avoid specification development being on the critical path.

Critical Competencies

• A degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline, preferably related to chemistry.

• Previous experience in managing specifications within a PLM system for afmcgcompany, preferably operating within PersonalCare

• A high proficiency in standard software, Excel and Power BI and an enthusiasm to build knowledge in PLM systems and the analysis of the underlying data to support business needs.

• Ability to work independently and to communicate with other functions both internally and externally. 

• Able to manage and prioritise a large number of parallel tasks without losing attention to the importantdetails

• A good team player who can integrate well with project teams and use their expertise to shorten project networks relating to their area of expertise and removeobstacles

• Self confidentintegrity, able to argue and defend their expert position against challenge, even from a more senior level.
