Education - Bachelor or Master Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience/Job Knowledge/Expertise - The candidate should have a minimum of 3 – 5 years relevant experience in the following – injection molding, extrusion, ISBM (injection stretch blow molding) and EBM (extrusion blow molding). Experience in secondary processing techniques (ultrasonic / spin welding, hard coating, various printing techniques, etc.), conducting customer seminars / training and working with external customers is necessary.
Judgment – Able to understand customer needs. Able to prioritize projects based on their importance to both external and internal (business) customers. Able to identify areas where we can increase sales of our products, whether new products in old or new applications or old products in new applications. Also able to understand and define customer needs where a new product is required.
Initiative – Must be self-motivated, looking for new applications, or, improvements in current applications. This also applies to his or her desire to learn new things, be it jobs, technology or applications. Possess Change Management mindset, Business and Financial acumen.
Leadership – Will be looked upon as the person that will provide the technical solutions. He/She may be called upon to lead cross-functional teams to handle various projects and key customer relationships. Business acumen, desire to improve & empower others, Influence/Advise, People Skills
Computer Skills – Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in intellectual property search / mining and statistical analysis software (ie. Minitab / ANOVA / JMP) is preferred.
Language – English and Chinese.
Communication – Must be able to make presentations to customers in public seminars or organized training for either internal or external customers in a professional manner. Write concise customer call reports with the ability to identify important information or critical issues and to highlight this in a timely manner to management. Clearly communicate customer needs to the business, sales and marketing people. Possess good communication skills such as influencing and negotiating.
Teamwork – Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and participate in both cross-functional and natural unit teams. The ability to work with people having different personalities and different job status is a MUST.
