We work as a development team. Candidates should have a good understanding of agile working, continuous delivery, automation and the open source ecosystem – including the management of FOSS security vulnerabilities.

Solid technical understanding of Jira, Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket, Nexus and Team City, and how they work together to support agile development is also required.

We are a globally distributed team of engineers responsible for MSS development tooling, including maintenance, performance, stability, integration and reporting. Our estate is currently Jira, Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket, Nexus, Team City, Splunk. We’re relentless in automating and reducing this estate – demising and replacing tools or moving them to lower maintenance platforms – so that we can focus more on innovation, engineering and development.

Recent work includes the Clouseau FOSS vulnerability scanner, an internal cloud, a secrets management solution, deployment tooling, hosting and development environments. Some of this work is driven by the head architect, some by our own continuous improvement.

We expect good range of programming skills in shell, java, node, python, and a good understanding of end to end development. Our estate is all UNIX, so good shell scripting is essential.

-      Driving workstreams and POC's

-      Engineering, prototyping and evaluating technical solutions

-      Technical support and continuous improvement of tooling platforms

-      Consultancy to global MSS IT teams on solutions & practises

-      Presenting to groups of people on topics & technologies relating to the role

Requirements

Essential Skillset/Experience

• Technical understanding of Jira, Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket, Nexus, Splunk, Team City
• Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting and at least two programming languages from Node.JS, Java, Python, C, C++
• Good understanding of UNIX platforms, networking, storage, memory management, database technologies.
• Good understanding of Docker, Vagrant and cloud services

Additional Skillset/Experience

Knowledge and experience of some of the following technologies will be an advantage
