Job Description
Overview
Plan and oversee a wide variety of SCM projects from concept to commissioning.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee construction/Installation projects from beginning to end
- Create, manage the budget and estimate costs
- Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule
- Prepare reports regarding job status
- Resolve any conflicts that may arise in the field
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team
- Ensure the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites are pulled by GC’s and subcontractors as required
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Plan construction/installation activities around operations in functional buildings
- Ensure all deadlines are met
- Allocate and manage resources to ensure that they are available when they are needed throughout the construction projects
- Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly
- Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project
- Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards - 50% travel
Minimum Qualifications
- BSc/BA degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent job experience
- PMP or an equivalent certification preferred
- Previous work experience managing budgets for construction projects
- Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment
- Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills
- Vast knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Previous work experience in construction management or similar role
- Familiar with construction and project management software programs
- Excellent knowledge of relevant rules and regulations pertaining to state and local municipality building codes
- Conflict resolution and conflict management experience
Physical Demands
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 50lbs
