Role Summary

The Sourcing Manager for Market Expansion is a position that reports to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing Indirect. The right candidate must enjoy working in a fast-paced competitive and changing environment, while effectively collaborating and communicating in alignment with the Cox culture. The main role of this position is to work with field representatives, at all levels, to identify priorities related to residential and commercial fiber builds.  You will drive the execution of the Cox sourcing strategy for our Metro Expansion Team’s specific sourcing events.  This is a person who handles the sourcing process, gathering stakeholder requirements while helping us achieve diversity spend.  This hardworking Individual keeps the team aligned on the execution and results of every project.  This will require you to stay focused, while delivering savings and balancing the needs and desired results of our business and boundary partners.  

 Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Support market leaders coordinating state and city request for proposals (RFP) responses inclusive of wireless and Smart City projects

Identify market opportunities based on the influx of funds at the federal, state, and local levels

Communicate opportunities to leadership teams

Monitor capital investment discussions, and proactively act on decisions

Define and execute on sourcing work for any necessary initiatives, making sure that our security, technology, and business requirements are clear and in place

Develop sourcing activities, using our seven-step process

Evaluate bids and select suppliers who will best serve our business needs

Negotiate pricing and terms of contracts to keep risk low and satisfaction high

Evaluate vendor performance and compliance to prepare for renewing contracts ensuring we’re always working with the very best partners

Required Qualifications

5 or more years of sourcing/procurement or related field experience in telecommunications

3 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree  

Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Products including Word, Excel and Power Point

Excellent analytical, reporting, communications, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization 

Ability to manage several complex projects at one time

Ability to identify opportunities and take necessary actions to continuously improve our value proposition for our customers.

Exceptional planning and organizational skills

Strong aptitude for customer service and stakeholder management

 Preferred Qualifications:

A university degree in Business, Engineering or Related Field Experience, or SCM / Strategic Sourcing Experience

BS/BA in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Business, etc.).   

Prefer certification in Project Management (PMP), Six Sigma, Supply Chain Management ISM, CPM or related

Experience in the use of supply chain technologies such as Oracle P2P and eSourcing Suites for sourcing event management

Experience with the 7-step strategic sourcing process

Experience negotiating contracts and price with suppliers and contractors providing telecom/broadband outside plant (aerial and underground) construction and maintenance services, and customer connectivity and equipment installations (CPE and pedestal-to-home) Experience managing third-party labor in network plant engineering, construction, and maintenance projects

Knowledge of the telecommunications marketplace, or knowledge of a MSO’s operations

Knowledge of telecommunications/broadband construction contractors and third-party services providers

Prior consulting experience
