Overview
This position will aid in the implementation of a world class S&OP process that aligns strategic planning, finance, supply chain, sales, marketing, and product development into a unified planning operating model to make proactive business tradeoff and improvement decisions. The Senior Sales and Operations Planning Lead will actively manage this S&OP process once implemented.
Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible to create capabilities and processes necessary to continuously align demand, inventory, supply, operations, marketing, product innovation – all cross functional areas reconciling to the strategic and tactical objectives of the business through the S&OP process
• Facilitate the right inputs and outputs and ensure stakeholder alignment to the S&OP cycle to enable decision making on short/medium/long term horizons.
• Seek, provide, and present relevant data in an impactful way to support key decisions and to deliver a clear message to the Exec team.
• Ensuring each step is focused on taking improvement and gap closing actions.
• Identify areas for improvements and lead with stakeholders to drive improvement actions
• Support/drive business improvement projects relating to S&OP
• Drive best practice and improve cross-functional alignment to S&OP
• Ensure the appropriate agendas are in place for all S&OP meetings, manage the tracking of actions and shape agendas according to specific business needs.
• To act as gatekeeper; ensuring the main outputs and feedback from S&OP meetings are communicated back out to relevant parties.
• Ensure actions are complete ahead of next S&OP cycle.
• Develop strong relationships and interactions with all S&OP stakeholders.
• Monitor and report specific KPIs in line with S&OP requirements: customer fill rate, forecast accuracy, inventory levels and past due as % sales.
• Evaluate and implement innovative demand-planning software alternatives as required
• Incorporate demand planning/modeling behavior, trends, influencing factors, volatility, customer behavior, market changes, and other environmental feedback that impacts the statistical forecast
• Support new product introductions and component cannibalization in the statistical forecast engine
• Responsible for fostering and maintaining an effective, positive team-based environment by coaching and communicating the corporate vision/values and setting and managing performance expectations
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Materials Management, Operations Management, Finance or related field required. Advanced degree in related field (MBA, etc.) preferred.
• 5-10 years in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement (REQUIRED)
• Experience leading S&OP or Demand Management Activities (REQUIRED)
• Strong problem assessment and problem-solving skills (REQUIRED)
• Familiarity with the Manufacturing Industry (REQUIRED)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (REQUIRED)
• Able to work independently (REQUIRED).
• Good Team player with the ability to work with all levels of management (REQUIRED).
• Able to work to achieve goals within defined deadlines (REQUIRED)
• APICS or IBF Certification (DESIRED)
