Job Description:

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading a Social Value solution workstream for a bid working collaboratively with bid teams and clients and leading or contributing to Social Value offerings within the CPS CVP portfolio
  • For bids that are exclusively to deliver a Social Value outcome only, depending on scope the Solutions & Propositions Consultant (Social Value) may be the Solution Lead for the pursuit
  • Undertaking market analysis and scanning of trends, competitors and factors that will differentiate a Capita offering, whether a bid solution or a go-to-market proposition
  • Creating candidate offerings through a process of iterative development involving customers, partners and suppliers, monitor and manage work by third-parties as required
  • Facilitating internal and external relationships as required with customers, partners the operational businesses to exploit capabilities, innovate and validate Social Value offerings
  • Working with bid excellence to write bid responses that excites the client and drafting inputs into business cases to gain investment for proposition development where required
  • Maintaining excellent understanding of Capita’s products and services and their fit with Social Value impact and opportunities
  • Work with marketing and sales to align messaging and delivery and ensure sales readiness.  Own and provide pricing information and support Sales, Bid teams and key partners with pricing and return on investment

What we are looking for:

Must have demonstrable experience of:

  • Managing stakeholders, regularly at a senior level, and engagement with supply-chain partners to ensure effective results across multiple pursuits and projects
  • Developing ideas that meet both defined and emerging customer needs, working in a client environment to inspire, challenge and nurture relationships
  • Creating effective, innovate offerings (ideally having a Social Value element) that incorporates many aspects of a multi-faceted business or public sector environment
  • Working with a multitude of source data and analyst material to evidence options and recommendations in support of recommending courses of action
  • Progressing ideas from initial concept through to operational reality, including testing proposals for commercial viability and expected performance
  • Developing the cost base or pricing mechanisms for Social Value offerings and working to determine the most economically viable models
  • Problem solving within an often-complex context, including identifying ways to achieve increased Social Value with improved service delivery and improving lives of customers
  • Working effectively as part of a team to articulate proposed solutions and gain support from those needed to ensure effective delivery

The core skills required for the role include the ability to:

  • Deliver – produce work often to aggressive timescales, often under pressure to meet demanding customer expectations of quality, accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate – work effectively as part of an experienced team and across the wider business, mostly remotely, and constructively build on the ideas of others
  • Analyse – diagnose a situation or problem, break down work and and apply design thinking tools and methods to discover new possibilities
  • Innovate – ‘think big’, spotting trends, implications, possibilities and see new or alternative opportunities to deliver on Social Value
  • Communicate – effectively articulate ideas, opportunities, and offerings (or initiatives) in writing and through presentations, to both internal stakeholders and customer groups
  • Commercialise – understand and respond to financial and commercial drivers, strategies for pricing and risk management, and creating favourable business cases
  • Sell – craft value message statements, identify win themes and customer hot buttons, develop stakeholder relationships and build partner allies who sponsor ideas.
  • A demonstrable growth mindset, interested and curious with the willingness to learn and ability to teach and inspire others to grow, delight customers and build a better business.
