We are seeking an Innovation Solutions Development Engineer who will independently research, plan and design experiments, lead cross-functional teams and research projects and evaluate results. This hands-on experimenter and entrepreneur will have a thorough understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories and concepts across various disciplines. They will rapidly prove or disprove hypotheses about new products and technologies which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. The innovator will enable exploration of new business opportunities via internal or external experimentation in LGM’s areas of strategic intent.
Develop technical solutions to problems which require ingenuity and creativity.
Explore and develop minimum viable product (MVP) for targeted innovation programs.
Write project plans and use experimentation to explore new technologies and technology value propositions.
Understand and articulate how emerging technologies can be applied to new products.
Summarize critical results and observations. Orally present findings to the team and management. Write technical papers for internal and external publication.
Write effective invention disclosure. Design experiments around and in support of patents.
Maintain awareness of the field's advances in technology and competitive intellectual property. Provide technical guidance to others in the organization. Ensure all safety measures are followed.
9+ Years engineering, research, scientific or related experience with Bachelor’s Degree
7+ years with a Masters Degree.
5+ years with PhD.
Experience working with Marketing and Operations preferred.
Demonstrate proficiency in multiple scientific fields, either thru work experience or documented publications (patent or paper)
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as the Google suite of products.
Strong math and analytical skills.
Strong organization and attention to detail.
Strong scientific and engineering knowledge.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Strong ability to interface effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
Good project management skills.
