This role will be super flexible around location with home working most of the time. We would like someone to be able to attend office meetings in Hemel Hempstead: once a month at present.

The Solutions Architect will define the phenomenal technical solutions for Virgin Media Business (VMB) and its evolution to meet customers and business demands. The Architect will focus on providing competitive solutions that meet customer requirements and will support the new product creation process as well as crafting the core platform at the heart of all our solutions.

Whilst leading a small team (1-2 people) of hard-working of architect / designers you'll be acting as a primary technical contact for VMB projects' outstanding solutions architecture.

We would love you to be passionate about liaising, leading and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to drive the adoption of the VMB architecture. This will be crucial when developing and socialising technical forward-thinking roadmaps, leading to successful implementation of VMB O2 technical solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity as you will be participating in the Architecture governance processes for cloud and security across VMB and Liberty Global, completing high-level designs and overseeing the creation of low level design documentation and delivery.

The must haves:

• Proven track record of designing and deploying sophisticated SaaS solutions
• Excellent knowledge and experience in the following: Cloud technology (Google Cloud Platform & AWS) and DevOps tools, Salesforce, Automation and Security, ISP networks & systems (Eg CCNP, CWNA, CCIE etc)
• Be responsible for the definition / maintenance of the technical architecture including: Security compliance, improving GCP Cloud infrastructure, platform architecture and features, re-architecture of current infrastructure, alignment and collaboration with the product roadmap
• Demonstrable experience providing technical direction, structure and a clear baseline for solutions architecture
• Strong capability to present solutions to stakeholders, including an understanding of their business drivers and preferences
• Proficient to work with suppliers in the delivery of solution
• Good understanding of KPIs, usage stats & availability reports with capability to analysis the implications of these for the delivered solution, and assessment of any indicators of solution faults or non-compliance
• Outstanding reporting capabilities
• Previous experience designing platform in a cloud environment
