New Growth & Development group is currently seeking a Solution Engineer focusing on QA and system Reliability for Cox Edge. Cox Edge is a new edge compute and data management service within Cox Communications. The Cox Edge team mission is to help businesses accelerate business and digital transformation by leveraging the benefits of edge computing. Cox Edge is a collection of low latency cloud infrastructure resources using our extensive infrastructure of edge facilities. Our edge data centers are located at the last mile of the network providing superior network speed to support developer and customer workloads across the ecosystem.

 About The Job 

Cox Edge is looking for a Solution Engineer who will work with multiple cross-functional tech delivery teams such as (system integration partners, internal IT teams, solution partners) with focus on quality Engineering and system Reliability. This role reports to Director of Tech Development and System Integration.

 Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

 Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features.

Support and deliver Quality engineering strategy for Cox Edge.

Ensure that technology solutions are fit-for-purpose and aligned with architectural principles, standards and roadmaps.

Work closely with development team and integration partners to ensure that cox Edge platform is designed with "operability" and ”Reliability” in mind.

Perform deployments in adherence to processes and procedures for high quality software and service delivery across Cox Edge.

Understand user and business requirements and translate to tech requirement and execution.

Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment.

Implement Cox Edge infrastructure monitoring solutions and perform maintenance to ensure desired application availability

Execute automation for known cloud-operations tasks, and create new automation for new situations or issues; automate everything

Good experience in writing Test plans, defining test strategy, test data generation techniques and designing test specifications to test Cox Edge product suite.

High expertise in building test frameworks along with functional testing and end to end automation.

Planning, developing and implementing test plans for functional and non-functional tests, including performance, scalability, security and regression tests

Lead the development of and best practices for platform KPIs and operational metrics

Promote and evangelize a DevOps culture within Cox Edge

Become an expert in the Cox Edge Tech stack and solution suite

Apply a Site Reliability Engineering mindset for devloping and sustaining automated, responsive and reliable services and operations. 

Cultivate and manage relationships with service providers, vendors, and business leads. 

Qualifications:

Minimum

 BS/BA degree in related discipline desired (Engineering, etc.)   

At least 5-7 years’ experience participating in QA Automation and SRE .

Experience in product and technology with demonstrated ability to deliver successful digital solutions used by many businesses and/or consumers.   

Experience with Public Cloud, Software as a service, DevSecOps, SRE 

Individual should have strong analytical skills and be capable of translating complex business problems into conceptual solutions that fit the business need. 

Individual should have strong , communication, and relationship skills. 

Individual should have a proven track record of working autonomously in an unstructured environment, using critical thinking and decision-making skills to drive out solutions to complex, often ambiguous problems 

 Preferred

 5+ years in an Infrastructure Engineering, Software Engineering, or DevOps role 

Cloud certifications (ex: Cloud Architect, Cloud DevOps, CISSP, CCNP / CCIE) 

Experience in software architecture, design, development, and deployment of large and distributed systems. 

Expertise with Unix/Linux systems and programming languages (C, C++, Java, Go, Perl, Python, Ruby etc) 

Experience operating virtualized and opensource software platforms 

Experience implementing and operating IAM / RBAC policies 

Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code best practices 

Prior start-up experience 

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information systems or similar technical field of study
