BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Solution Center System Project Lead at our Noblesville Technical Center (NTC) in Noblesville, Indiana.

In this role, the Solution Center System Project Lead is responsible for all technical aspects of a quote response and is the primary technical interface to the customer from the start of the quote process through program kick off.  The SC-SYPL leads the engineering effort required to understand the customer requirements, develop a product solution to meet the requirements, and assimilate the costs and effort associated with the product development.  The SC-SYPL will coordinate across Electrical, eMotor, and Gearbox component groups as well as various engineering and sales competencies in order to develop the required solution and costs which will enable a quotation to be developed.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the central technical interface to customers
  • Lead the global quote team to develop technical solutions for customer quotes
  • Break down specifications into sub-system requirements and assign to appropriate teams to review.
  • Work with Sales and the Quote Manager to develop quote timing.
  • Ensure engineering tasks across the organization are completed on time for the quote
  • Lead reviews of the system requirements, architecture, and integration.
  • Lead the quote team to generate Bill of Material (BOM), ED&D costs, and timing plans
  • Communicate changes to the quote team.
  • Perform on-going risk management for the project.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a preferred focus on electric drive systems; power electronics and/or motors
  • 8+ Years of experience in power electronics controller, software and functional safety requirements & development
  • Wide engineering background with experience in complex systems with mechatronics, electrical machines, power electronics and software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is required.
  • Skills in other languages is an advantage
  • Ability to travel at least 20% is required
  • Must be comfortable working multiple programs in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must be comfortable working on a global team.
  • Good at coaching people and fostering a team approach

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the automotive industry.
  • Experience with drivetrains of hybrid-electric of full-electric vehicles.
  • Understanding of power electronics, motor characterization, integration, and validation requirements and processes.
  • Experience with ASPICE, functional safety, and cyber security standards
