Role and responsibilities:

The Solution Architect is responsible for creating exceptional architectural designs, providing thought leadership across a broad spectrum of technologies, supporting delivery teams and stakeholders

  • Develop architecture solutions based on customer/programme requirements

  • Ensures solutions are secure, scalable, reliable and can be maintained

  • Develop a direction to manage the portfolio of to-be-solutions, including systems, shared infrastructure services, applications to better match business outcomes

  • Analyse technology environments, business specifics and client requirements to align solutions better

  • Clearly and accurately can articulate, document and present architectural solutions, recommendations and reusable patterns to stakeholders

  • Ensures architecture principles and standards are consistently applied to all the projects

  • Develops trust and builds effective working relationships through respectful, collaborative engagement

  • Demonstrate thought leadership on engagements and with colleagues, act as a trusted advisor

  • Identifies RAID items, their potential impacts and mitigation

Essential Experience/Skills:

  • Accustomed to working within ITIL frameworks, along with Prince 2 and Agile methodologies

  • Extensive experience in solution design, developing and implementing sustainable and scalable solutions that follow service management processes and procedures

  • Experience in selecting and applying service management principles, policies and techniques in client operational environments

  • Customer focussed with ability to identify and understand the (internal and/or external) customer's needs

  • Cloud Architecture, MS Azure, Analytics and Remote Condition Monitoring

  • Displays a high degree of knowledge relating to service management and ITSM toolsets

  • Experience of working at a senior Operations management level

  • Knowledge of IT outsource models, including experience in developing and using ITO cost models

  • Experience of working in large transformation programmes.

  • Able to perform peer reviews, audits, standards compliance checks and due diligence as required

  • Demonstrable consultancy skills

  • Experience as a Solution Architect/Consultant with excellent design experience

  • Experience of ERP platforms

  • Exposure to integration & middleware

  • Experience in managing development teams & development cycles
