Overview
The Solution Architect, ServiceNow (ESM) is responsible for the design of one or more end to end solutions, a product or a business or IT service. Works closely with cross functional business and technical teams. The individual has a balanced mix of technical and very strong business skills, working with an enterprise architect for strategic direction. The individual leads the overall technical vision for a particular platform (across all modules) or solution(s) to provide a business product or a business/IT service. The individual can make technical decisions regarding a solution, and how the technology design impacts business outcomes. The development or infrastructure teams use the information to implement the solution to meet business outcomes. The individual has very strong Director-level leadership and behavior competencies.
Specialized Skills and Technologies
Knowledgeable on the ServiceNow platform Rome release or later: service delivery products, creator workflows, app engine, and integration hub
Experience as a technical leader who documents the overall platform design and helps to analyze the impact of new requirements
Can ensure platform alignment with the business strategy
Experience providing consultative technical leadership to the platform team
Ability to create and maintain a detailed view of the existing architecture
Ability to provide architectural controls to ensure the correct technical solutions are used when delivering business solutions
Ability to resolve technical escalations, including responding to defects – Participates in process workshops
Prior experience working closely with an enterprise architecture team
Ability to assist in migrating configuration across instance
Primary Responsibilities
Deliver appropriate solutions for respective platforms
Implement platform solutions
Define and enforce application development standards across the enterprise
Ensure solutions designed adhere to enterprise architecture standards
Stay up to date on new technologies and platform capabilities
Serve as an expert in application development, database design, and/or platform (operating system) efforts, helping project teams comply with enterprise and application development policies, industry regulations, and best practices
Work with Enterprise Architects to ensure solutions are in place throughout all IT systems and platforms to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements
Communicate risks and solutions to cross functional key stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and education combination
8+ years of work experience in IT with experience in solutioning technology solutions to meet business needs
Expert knowledge of solution/application development issues, techniques, and implications across one or more platform including expert/deep technical knowledge in one specific platform such as SAP, Salesforce, or Microsoft
Broad experience and exposure to a single platform environment to enable the proper perspective and ability to design an application or infrastructure solution
Can explain to business leaders a Strong understanding of business' processes in order to create a cohesive vision of a usable product
Expert technical knowledge in 1 area of a platform (SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft)
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Strong team player who can work across multiple functions and disciplines
