Our award-winning workplace culture is centered on inclusion and kindness, and we’re looking for people to join our mission to be a force for good in the world. Come build a better future with us across automotive, communications, the environment and more.

We want to do everything we can to keep our employees safe and healthy. Reasonable accommodations for medical and religious objections will of course be considered.

Keep reading to learn more about this opportunity to join the Cox family of businesses.

As a Software Test Engineer II, you will support an Agile team in analyzing, designing, building, and testing high-quality automated testing solutions that ensure our product meets customer expectations.  You will be working on our Automotive Marketing Platform (AMP) product that is changing the way dealers are marketing to customers through email, CRM tasks, text messaging, direct mail, and Facebook with more channels to come.  Our applications are written in .NetCore/C# and hosted in AWS.  We use New Relic, Splunk, and PagerDuty to monitor and alert on our platform.

We own and are responsible for our applications from design, development, testing, deployment, and support.  Our infrastructure is a mix of on-prem and cloud deployments, and we manage it using Terraform.  We use CI/CD best practices to develop, test, and deploy our applications.  We use Microsoft tools, Resharper, and Specflow/Selenium for automated unit and integration tests plus K6 for automated load and performance tests.  In addition to working with product owners to prioritize and fix defects as necessary, we reserve one sprint a quarter to work on things that are bugging us.  This can include but is not limited to cleaning up noisy alerts, automating manual processes, and revisiting code if we think there’s a better way to do it using tools we have available or to look for new tools.  We have an annual Hackathon with winners going on to compete at a higher level within our parent company.  We have time reserved on the calendar annually to learn more about both internal and external products.

A professional demeanor, strong communication, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are essential. This is a hands-on, technical position, so candidate must demonstrate a high level of technical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills.  A deep understanding of automated testing concepts and professional experience creating automated test scripts is required.  This individual must be eager and capable of learning new skills and technology and be motivated to work in a fast-paced environment where wearing multiple hats is encouraged.  If you want to work on highly performant software running at scale in the cloud, with the ability to both learn new technologies and have an impact on our ability to succeed as a team, organization, and company, this job is for you!

 Technologies the team uses:

.NetCore, C#, AWS (including but not limited to Elastic Beanstalk, Elastic Container Service, Lambdas, SQS, Dynamo DB, Terraform, and RDS), NewRelic, Splunk, Nunit, SpecFlow, K6, GitHub, Octopus, Resharper

Your Role:

Work closely with scrum team members to evangelize the value of producing a high-quality product throughout the entire SDLC

Identify gaps and weaknesses in user stories, technical requirements and acceptance criteria

Create test plans, test cases, and automation based on user stories and true business intent

Develop modular and robust automated test scripts and infrastructure to ensure maintainability, extensibility, and scalable

Continuously make improvements to agile processes, testing practices and QA methods

Engage with your agile delivery team to build a culture of passion, trust, and creativity

Learn and leverage the automotive digital marketing domain to change the way the world buys, sells, and uses cars

Qualifications:

Where permitted by applicable law, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be considered for this U.S. based job.  (Reasonable accommodations for medical and religious objections will be considered.)
