The Dell Enterprise Storage group is looking for a Virtual Appliance Management and Build Engineer to help accelerate our growing Software Defined Storage (SDS) business.  This is an excellent opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Dell’s Enterprise SDS solutions directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.  In this role, you will play a critical role in supporting and improving the software build and test framework for our product teams as well as building and maintaining virtual appliances (VMs) that are used across Dell Storage appliances, SDS solutions, and OEM offerings to enhance solution management, streamline deployment and enable product serviceability.

Key Responsibilities

• Accelerate and drive efficiencies into the build and deployment processes for our SDS products.
• Automate build verification testing to ensure stability of code base.
• Provide best practices to development team for continuous integration, builds, and test execution.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including technical leads, developers, quality assurance, and engineering manager.

Essential Requirements

• Experience as a Build & Release Engineer for software development teams focused on rapid release and long delivery cycles.
• Must be experienced in the use of Git/GitHub.
• Experience maintaining and/or implementing a system and process for Continuous Integration.
• Experience developing and deploying tools for build management metrics.
• Experience with Linux/Windows packaging tools.
• Experienced using Make-based build tools.
• Excellent scripting skills: Bash, python and PowerShell, etc
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Build & Release Engineer.

Desirable Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 3+ years’ as a Build & Release Engineer or DevOps experience.
