As a member of Dell Technologies Services (DTS) Sustaining Engineering team the primary responsibility is to providing engineering level expertise with a focus on the Dell EMC’s XtremIO. This highly technical team provides support to manage and resolve software issues. We collaborate across L2 support team, cross functional teams to provide sustain engineering via trouble shooting, hot fixes, patches and service packs. What you’ll achieve
As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for sustaining engineering support of DELLEMC XtremIO Storage platform. You will also troubleshoot and resolve complex product and environment issues.
You will:
Identify product related issues, documented issues or negative trends in field escalations
Use our tracking systems to determine severity, priority and fix
When appropriate transfer knowledge to cross-functional sustaining engineering teams for triage, root cause analysis and fix methods
Leverage development engineering teams to come to root cause in field related escalations
Manage communications and feedback to support team members, management and customers
When necessary leads efforts in facilitating problem recreation and failure analysis of software/systems level issues.

Essential Requirements
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong knowledge includes Networking, SAN, FC, IP, TCP/UDP, iSCSI, InfiniBand (Dell XtremIO a plus)
General knowledge and application of engineering concepts
Understanding of business environment
Experience working on enterprise class systems and customer environments
Ability to work in a team environment
Desirable Requirements
Bachelor’s degree+
Self-starter with strong self-motivation, able to work under remote management with directives limited to general goals
Strong technical aptitude with analytical approach and tenacious problem-solving skills
Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple competing priorities
