Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a diverse and inclusive team of software and data engineers.
  • Evolve and further a data first, customer obsessed, quality culture both with the team and with key partners
  • Coach and teach skills to develop the team and identify opportunities for each team member to grow
  • Create clarity and align strategy and technology with the organisational goals
  • Collaborate with wider teams (both local and in the US) to enable Studios Quality growth and improvement.
  • Develop relationships with key partners within the Xbox studios we support. Provide clarity for the solutions and value we offer to them, and build awareness of the difficulties and opportunities the studios have to help shape future focus
  • Remove obstacles so that the team can implement best practices, be productive and develop their skills
  • Optimize for agility, iteration, and learning, and use data to make good choices
  • Embrace the Microsoft cultural attributes and leadership principles to have a positive impact on team morale and work climate.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience managing a high-performing technical team, including hiring, developing, and retaining talent, building an open diverse and inclusive working environment where everyone feels belonging and welcomed
  • Proven track record of mentoring and growing people
  • History of leveraging and implementing technological solutions that increase their team’s impact
  • Ability to communicate and present complex technical concepts to multiple levels of an organization and to multiple disciplines
  • Ability to use systems thinking to assess broad risks and adjust team strategy
  • Experience working across functional teams and managing and balancing expectations of the organization
  • Driven engineering rhythms to enable teams to collaborate and deliver on time and on quality
  • Experience with Agile development practices
  • Familiar with basic Data Science concepts & capabilities, and their practical application
