SUMMARY:

This Software Engineering Advisor position will contribute to the ongoing build out and enhancement of our web-based analytics delivery platform in support of our internal customers within Evernorth Service Operations to help drive differentiated service, operational efficiency, and a positive member experience.  The Software Engineering Advisor will use their web programming experience to code, test, debug, document, and maintain the overall platform as well as new and existing analytic applications within it.  This role will also contribute to the onboarding and continued mentoring of junior developers, and contribute new solutions, patterns, and best practices to the organization at large. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work with Evernorth Service Operations Analytics Leadership, Information Technology, as well as internal customers to design and implement platform-level enhancements delivering improved ease-of-use, new developer-empowering features, as well as uncompromising data security.
• Enable the delivery of interactive, data-driven applications to enhance throughput, reduce cost, and improve quality withinEvernorth Service Operations.
• Mentor junior developers in ReactJS, Python Flask, and other components of the team tech stack.
• Ability to work within and help junior developers understand Agile software development practices.
• Enhance/troubleshoot existing infrastructure and applications to support evolving business needs.
• Attain and share subject matter expertise in the platform itself, the Information Technology infrastructure on which it depends, as well as the business processes and outcomes it seeks to improve.
• Proactively conduct root-cause analyses and identify and implement enhancement opportunities associated with the supported platform and its component applications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3 years of relevant professional experience
• Advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience building user interfaces using ReactJS, Angular, Vue, Ember, or equivalent.
• Experience building API endpoints using Python Flask, Java Spring, or equivalent.
• Experience querying relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, MySQL, Hadoop Hive, or equivalent).
• Experience with log tools such as Splunk, Kafka, New Relic, etc. a plus
• Experience with Agile methodology for software development strongly preferred.
• Experience with data visualization libraries/tools (FusionCharts, HighCharts, Plotly, Tableau) a plus.
• Ability to mentor internal customers in use of software applications.
• Familiarity with health care or PBM industry a plus.

This role is WAH/Flex which allows most if not all of the work to be performed at home.  Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
