We are the Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) organization, which is a part of E+D division. Our core mission is to keep customers protected and productive by delivering a seamless and timely servicing experience for our customers in existing and future versions of Windows.   

Our Customer Focused Engineering (CFE) team is looking for highly motivated Senior Software Engineers to help us in this mission. We are the CFE’s Test execution and Toolkit team with charter is to create and improve tools which help the CFE SWE do their job more efficiently. In carrying out that charter – we strive to use latest technologies, tools & platforms such as Azure & ML. You will play a key role in onboarding of test content for newer versions of operating system and seamless execution of the monthly test cycles of Windows Operating system code for keeping our customer base secure, improving the reliability of the platform, addressing customer reported issues, building data insights, and developing features to light up new scenarios and devices in the Windows ecosystem (PCs, Phones, Servers, SurfaceHub, Hololens, Azure and more). We are energetic, agile, results oriented, very friendly and very kind group of developers and project managers working on awesome stuff for Windows Test Execution and Toolkit.

This team manages the test infra for smooth execution of test cycles, website for requesting test cycles, automate workflows for installing some types of packages for automation in Depth and Monthly Test Passes, schedule of test jobs, aggregates test results and states from various test runs to support the team in assessing quality of the release. Team also build multiple internal tools to ease and minimize development and packaging costs.  All services are based on C#, .NET, SQL, VB Script, PowerShell, XAML and related stack.

Responsibilities

• Build modern distributed highly scalable system to support Windows Analysis Based Selection of Test jobs and analytics.

• Understand requirements and create complete design specifications. Participate in the definition of key scenarios, use cases, and end-user experiences
• Prioritizing your collection of work and delivering features in a timely fashion to meet deadlines.

• Working cross-team to integrate with partner teams, Operating System feature teams and their systems/test content.
• Recognize manual work to propose and implement solutions to improve the efficiency of the team.
• Prioritizing your collection of work and delivering fixes in a timely fashion to meet deadlines.
• Collaborating with Test team to identify blocker in execution to resolve and automate the steps..
• Finding ways to improve products, tools, and processes for long-term benefit for Microsoft and customers.
• Mentoring junior engineers in the team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven design and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on quality and engineering excellence.
• Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to work well in a diverse, global, team-focused environment.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with relevant programming and debugging skills in C#, .NET, SQL, etc.
• Ability to understand unfamiliar code bases, and debug server-side, multi-threaded, and highly scalable applications.
• Experience in working with Windows system level programming and developing device drivers.
• Demonstrated results working with a global team
• Experience with agile/scrum methodologies
