Our mission is to keep the billions of users of Microsoft’s intelligent cloud and edge products (covering the breadth of Windows, Edge, Azure OS offerings, HoloLens and more) protected and productive by enabling the pipeline for critical security and non-security updates and delivering them to customers on a global scale. We are the back-end engine that powers the updates pipeline and delivery systems at a scale never seen before. All our customers depend on this. To meet the scale and needs of this business, we need high availability, high reliability services and a system to enable us to curate content.  Our engineers build the systems on Azure, using cloud services and cutting-edge infrastructure as well as to accommodate dynamic ever evolving business integration logic. As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for all aspects of service execution and life cycle (design, development, quality assurance, production deployment, service availability, reliability, and live site monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer’s perspective and experience with Windows as a Service when designing systems.
• Design, write and deliver micro-service implementation with focus on quality, availability, simplicity & maintainability.
• Communicate effectively and partner well with other disciplines of the project team to deliver high quality solutions from envisioning to implementation to live site availability.
• Investigate and search for technical difficulties with uncertainty and come up with proposals, drive for a solution with discussion/reviewing with senior members in the entire team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of development experience in C# working on all phases of a development cycle.
• Experience with large scale services architectures and technologies is a plus.
• Experience building web service and restful designs, serverless and event driven design are a plus.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
• Experience in Azure is a plus.

• Insight and intuitive thinking to recognize, address proactively and solve hard problems that span technology, development models, testing, and other areas.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability and passion to pick up new technologies and stay on the cutting edge of development.
