You will help design, build and support mission-critical enterprise software applications

You will define product solutions by working directly with business and product teams

You will actively promote good engineering practices and standards

You will help navigate new technologies like text analytics, machine learning, and cloud-based deployments to help deliver high value to our business

You will keep abreast of the latest engineering trends and practices and bring them back to the team when appropriate

You will work with the team to continuously improve our craft of software engineering

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

2+ years of experience building various components of scalable enterprise applications

Front-end web development using UI frameworks like Angular/Ionic, RxJS, Redux/NgRx and TypeScript

Proven experience with building responsive web applications using component libraries like PrimeNg or Material-UI

Middle-tier service development with strong API design skills (Java or Groovy preferred)

Familiarity with running software on Cloud Service Providers like Amazon Web Services

Strong technical design, development, analysis and problem solving skills

Proven experience with relational database development is a plus (Oracle preferred)

Exposure to mobile application development is a plus

Exposure to machine learning techniques, recommender systems, search engines (Solr or ElasticSearch) and/or text analytics is a plus

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Financial services experience is preferred

The AlphaSearch product team is part of the larger Research Technology function within Asset Management, developing software applications that support the investment research process across multiple asset classes. The team you will be working with is highly engaged and passionate about solving problems faced by Fidelity's Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts. We are committed to evolving our agile software development process and incorporating the newest technologies and practices. We are moving towards continuous delivery using modern technologies like Angular, Redux, Ionic, responsive CSS frameworks, AWS, Solr, and others.
