Microsoft Edge declared a while back that it will be  making the web better through more open source collaboration while Edge promises to continue to enable customers to do more. With the general availability Edge has already reached millions of customers and is taking a fresh approach to browsing by putting the end user at the center and meeting the user where they are, shipping on Windows 10, down level Windows, Mac and Android. Microsoft Edge team is contributing to the Chromium project in media, input, graphics, layout, accessibility, scrolling performance, editing, controls, composition, animation, networking, storage and many other areas, powering Microsoft Edge and other Chromium based browsers. We are now on a journey to help satisfy unmet customer needs while contributing to the Chromium OSS project in a way that helps us move the broader web forward. 

We are looking for an individual with high standards of excellence to join our engineering team to build amazing experiences that are robust, fast and seamless. The ideal candidate is skilled at design and implementation, able to and own large architectural designs and collaborate well across multiple partner teams.  

Responsibilities

Responsibilities  

• Develop and improve web platform features to bridge the gap between native applications and the web 

• Create layered, componentized, testable, interface-based designs  
• Robust implementation and crafted end-user experiences with a focus on quality  
• Collaborate across functional and partner teams to define requirements  
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers and program managers on open source projects 
• Deliver web platform innovation in important areas of the browser engine with a focus on the needs of our customers and web developers 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications  

• 5+ years of professional industry experience working on large projects  

• With 3+ years experience with C/C#/C++/Java with a good knowledge of Data Structures/Algorithms 
• And 2+ years experience with app development 

• A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline   
• Excellent design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills  

Preferred Qualifications  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills   
• Experience in Machine Learning, Data Driven Engineering or Agile Development is a plus  

• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies is a plus   
• Experience with Windows architecture and internals is a plus  
• Cross-platform development experience
