Azure has one of the largest storage services on the planet, holding Exabytes of data and files not just for our 3rd party customers, but also many of Microsoft’s own services from OneDrive through Xbox. Managing storage hardware lifecycle and service growth from ensuring scale units are built with ideal hardware in both performance and functionality.

As a developer on the Azure Storage Hardware team; you will work on varied tasks and projects - from working on the newest cloud hardware, development and implementation of testing scenarios, diagnostics, and implementation to accommodate our ever-changing platform and offerings.

We are looking for the developer or engineer that wants to grow and excel, those who seek out challenges and always willing to take on the next new project. This role is perfect for someone who loves to build code to stress hardware and find the corner cases where it fails. We focus on the infrastructure and hardware health of the entire fleet of Azure Storage, this role is a focus on the software engine utilized to validate all systems in the fleet.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities include:

• Implement C++ code to stress server hardware components.
• Work with internal and external teams to implement new test scenarios.
• Maintain quality of code in the workload engine
• Contribute to a complex software eco system to validate hardware viability.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years C++ development
• Server hardware component knowledge 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years C++ dev experience
• 1+ years hardware test development
• Intermediate knowledge of Storage hardware technologies
• End to End system component integration knowledge and experience
• Windows kernel debugging experience.
• Hardware debugging experience
