Responsibilities

Microsoft Devices team is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer with the intellectual horsepower and experience to provide secure, reliable and performant Build solutions, Development and Release Process Automation solutions. You will be responsible for architecting & delivering Software and Firmware builds that brings Surface to life and the tools and automation to make the development and release processes efficient while raising the security bar within the supply chain and build / release processes. You will need to understand requirements across all Device teams / disciplines and deliver solutions to successfully meet those requirements. This is a great opportunity to have broad leadership and impact across Devices. Are you up for the challenge? Ideal candidates for this position should have a degree in computer science or other engineering field with excellent expertise in providing secure build / release automation solutions together with leadership and problem-solving skills. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and work extremely well in cross-group situations. Attention to details is crucial.

Qualifications

Bachelors/ Masters in Computer Science or other Engineering field

• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
• 4+ years of experience as a Software Developer
• 4+ years of Development using PowerShell, Build and Release(CICD) automation, YAML, Azure DevOps, Azure
• Experienced with at least two end-to-end product life cycles as a developer for medium to large scale product
• Excellent track record in developing Software / Firmware / OS Image build processes and automation solutions
• Excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration skills across organizations
• Strong problem solving and debugging skills
• Passionate, motivated, self-driven and quick learner

Preferred but not mandatory:

• Knowledge and experience in Drivers building and packaging.
• Experiences with Git, Containers, Kubernetes, MSBuild, Python, C# and Visual Studio.
