The Capacity Management team within CSCP is at the tip of the Capacity Fulfillment promise for the Microsoft cloud, building the engineering systems that are needed to address this critical problem for Microsoft. We are looking for an experienced, talented, and motivated software engineer to join the team and drive our offerings to the next level of scale and functionality. As a key member of the team you will be responsible for technical leadership and end-to-end development of the data solutions and seamless delivery of new feature

Responsibilities

• Build software prototypes and conduct experiments to evaluate alternative architectures.

• Take end-to-end responsibility for the development, quality, testing, and production readiness of the services you build.

• Effectively communicate status of the deliverables, issues, and risks

• Mentor junior members of the team

• Conduct periodic on call duties

Qualifications

Required

• BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

• At least 3 years' experience in software engineering and Proficient in programming with C#, Java, or C++

• Experience with at least one of the following scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, Perl, JavaScript or Ruby (for data manipulation and automation tasks).

Preferred

• Demonstrated experience adapting to, and learning new languages, tools, and environments

• Excellent computer science fundamentals with strong testing, debugging, and analytical skills

• Knowledge of various design patterns and technologies that enable business problem-solving at scale

• Experience with designing and operating distributed systems, data transformations & modeling and strong problem-solving skills

.• Strong communication skills with both engineering and non-engineering colleague

• Able to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, and meet deadlines

• Good communications skills; able to share complex ideas with other teams

• Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and drive for clarity

CLOUD SCREENING REQUIREMENT

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
