The Software Engineer for IT, eCommerce will be responsible to write and maintain code within applications and systems to implement capabilities and features, improve performance and maintainability, while reducing technical debt in alignment with product and technology roadmaps. Plays a role in Agile planning, providing advice and guidance, and monitoring emerging trends. Will work closely with delivery manager, support manager, architects, and software engineers to effectively address business requirements in the eCommerce application area.

• Agile Planning: Works with Product Management / Business Partners to understand the challenges that customers and end users face in their day-to-day work and partner with them to design viable solutions
• Creating and maintaining solutions using Service Oriented Architecture.

• Advises viable solutions to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team and reduce technical debt.
• Possess technical knowledge of RMS, PIM, Demandware (Salesforce commerce), Product Enrichment Application.
• Extensive development experience in Web and Enterprise applications using Java, Spring, Ruby on Rails and Rest Web Services.
• Working understanding of databases including writing and amending queries in Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience in client-side technologies such as JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery and web-based debug tools
• Provide quality software deliverable on time and on budget 
• Experience using GCP and Heroku Cloud Platform for the applications.
• Experience working in DevOps including continuous integration and continuous deployment using open-source technologies like GIT, JIRA and Confluence

• Foresees capacity requirements for component usage and identifies limitations

• Influences input into story sizing, backlog grooming, and release planning

• Product Development: Advises product and solution designs to address critical issues and complex problems

• Understands technical architecture and writes software and automated tests that are aligned with agreed upon standards

• Performs trouble-shooting efforts and investigations when necessary

• Application Support: Provides ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products

Minimum Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education

• Working experience of 2-3 years in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components, client-facing web applications, and major Internet-oriented applications and systems

• Working experience realizing applications from conception and design to implementation and support

• Back-end: server, application, database using languages like JAVA, SQL, PL-SQL, Ruby

• Working experience with application lifecycle methodologies (e.g. agile, iterative)

Knowledge / Skills Requirements:

• Programming/ Software Development: Ability to: Design, code, test, correct and document programs and scripts from agreed specifications, and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result

• System Integration: Ability to establish standards and procedures across the technology service lifecycle (including the development lifecycle) in the areas of systems integration and testing and ensures that practitioners adhere to them

• Application Support: Ability to manage application enhancements to improve business performance.
