Job Description

Responsibilities

You will be working with a small team of colleagues on a crucial component of the larger Personal Information Management system. You will bring your unique perspectives to the team and to the larger organisation through your responsibilities of:

  • Solving technical problems to deliver great outcomes for our customers, team, and business
  • Coordinating the technical delivery of various projects undertaken by the team through our two-week sprints by facilitating collaboration through all stages of the project lifecycle
  • Working with other teams across geographies and time zones to ensure a holistically sound architecture for Personal Information Management
  • Working with designers, project managers, user researchers, and data scientists to create a delightful Personal Information Management experience that brings real value to our users
  • Helping your colleagues be successful, for example by promoting and modelling best practice, sharing your knowledge, giving them space to shine, being an ally, and generally contributing to an inclusive and inspiring team culture that encourages all to demonstrate a growth mindset and bring their best selves to work
  • Participating in innovation and ideation sessions, and in the time set aside for learning

You will also have a variety of opportunities to take part in impactful activities outside of your day-to-day responsibilities, for example:

  • Participating in our three annual hack weeks, with the possibility of collaborating with teams you don’t normally work with
  • Presenting at internal or external conferences and events
  • Spending up to three days volunteering with paid volunteering leave every year
  • Getting involved in employee groups and networks of all kinds, or creating your own – we have resource groups for various demographics including families, LGBTQI+, military, BAME, women’s, and disability; we have Mental Health Ambassadors; we have Disaster Response Volunteers; we have all sorts of social clubs and societies; we have hackweek organisers; and on it goes.

  • You are curious, adaptable, and strive for continual improvement for yourself and for those around you, making good use of the full range of support available to all of our teams
  • You can communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical collaborators and stakeholders
  • You have worked with others to design, develop, and maintain customer-facing software through multiple versions, and are comfortable with software engineering practices such as version control, code review, pair programming, unit testing, integration testing, work item tracking and prioritisation, and continuous integration/deployment
  • You have a working familiarity with .NET, Java, or another object-oriented programming language
