We are the Azure Data team part of the C+E Azure organization. We build reliable, highly scalable, and highly performing distributed systems. Azure Data Governance team is looking for a strong Front and Middle tier developer, who is proficient in Web technologies. You will be using your expertise to work with highly experienced distributed systems and cloud engineers to deliver highly performant software development kits, API, and services. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of a very agile team, taking on the problem of fine-grained data access control across the entire data estate.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with a strong and proven record of top-notch design, coding and debugging skills. This position will play a key role in defining the technical direction of the most complex pieces of Azure Data, while delivering continued improvements as well as pathbreaking features at a high quality. The candidate will work on the latest server technologies and highly distributed systems, with a focus on reliability, scalability, performance, consistency and debuggability.

Thought leadership, the ability to communicate up, down and across, and a strong commitment to our customers will be required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  

• 7+ years of hands-on coding experience shipping products across multiple release cycles.
• Experience in Java OR C# object-oriented programming, REST API’s.
• Experience creating, developing, delivering, deploying, maintaining and/or operating online services, services platforms, and/or services infrastructure.
• Industry experience working with service engineering technologies.
• Any experience in building distributed services in the security domain is a BIG plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, and a minimum of 7 additional years of industry experience.
• Experience building and shipping production grade software or services.
• Experience using agile methodologies or test-driven development (TDD).
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms and distributed systems
• High enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced competitive environment.
• Have a deep desire to work collaboratively, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions and celebrate successes
• Experience creating and shipping V1 products using modern development practices.
• Great curiosity and willingness to question.
• Get excited by the challenge of hard technical problems.
