The Azure Arc data services team is looking for engineers who are interested in developing a state-of-the-art data management platform that spans from the edge to on premise datacenters to all the major public clouds for multiple commercial and open-source database engines. The platform provides full lifecycle services involving deployment, automated upgrade, high availability, disaster recovery, supportability, and monitoring end to end. Data is transforming the world around us; more and more important decisions are driven by the ever-increasing volume and variety of data. Data lives in the back rooms of retail stores, at sea on container ships, in farmers’ fields and in sprawling datacenters all over the world. The challenge we are solving for is how to manage all that data despite its vast distribution. Responsibilities

Your job duties include but not limited the following: 

• Develop software using a wide-variety of languages and technologies for distributed cloud computing on Azure, Windows Sever, Linux, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes
• Building unit and integration tests
• Validation of code and tests in production class test environments
• DevOps/SRE engineering for production Azure Data services

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on software development
• 3+ years’ experience with any of these languages: C/C++, C#, Go, Java, Python
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, Software Engineering, or a related field 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with both Windows and Linux
• Design or development experience in database engines, distributed systems, cloud computing, container technology, and operating system internals
• Hands on operating systems development experience
• Masters/Ph.D. in Computer Science (or equivalent)
