The Selection Contribution Platform team (SCP) owns the systems that deliver a key part of that vision – we build the systems that allow Amazon to carry the largest, highest quality and most up-to-date selection in the world.

As a member of SCP, you will play a key role in building Amazon’s business. You will solve technical challenges in web-scale computing, distributed systems, web applications, data mining, machine learning, optimization, scalability, availability and algorithms to name a few. Working with business teams to translate their needs into technical requirements you will build cutting-edge systems that meet challenging business and technical goals with Amazon efficiency so we can deliver great pricing to our customers. You will directly interact with Amazon’s Development teams across the globe, to design and deliver the best solutions to grow Amazon in being earth’s most customer-centric company!

With a broad technology and management toolbox you are able to develop the team and guide their technical implementations. You will lead the team to deliver robust solutions that drive ongoing expansion to Amazon's catalogs across our worldwide websites. Your solutions must be well designed, implemented, tested, deployed and supported. Your success will depend on your skills in understanding the big picture of Amazon's business and delivering incremental solutions contributing to the larger vision.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications & Experience
· Have a Bachelors or a Masters degree on Computer Science or related field such as Mathematics or Engineering.
· Have extensive experience in software development experience building large scale distributed systems.
· Have a solid track record of technical lead experience.
· Have strong experience in hiring, developing and evaluating performance of engineers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications
· An MBA or Masters in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
· Have a background in full stack development including UI and large distributed systems.
· Experience with managing an agile development process.
