The TVOD Commerce organisation is seeking a software development manager to lead the building of world-class customer data management. Working with Product Managers and key stakeholders and executives around the world, you will own the engineering vision for how we build and scale our services to delight a global audience and make the hottest movies and TV shows available to our customers. This job will challenge you on any fronts – you will solve technical challenges associated with scaling services, managing large data sets, and maintaining customer security and privacy. You will drive innovation and future solutions that will impact how we run systems that support the expansion of Prime Video worldwide.

Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for the long term, strategic vision for your team, the day-to-day management of your team's roadmap, and the growth and development of your direct reports. You will also work closely with partner engineering and business teams to ensure we are always delivering the right things for customers.

A day in the life
A typical day will involve attending your team's sprint ceremonies (standups, backlog grooming, and retrospective meetings), reviewing operational metrics, one-on-ones with your directs and key stakeholders, and meetings to drive alignment with partners and establish/deliver on your team's long term vision. You will also help to build an inclusive team culture.

Key stakeholders are other SDMs, TPMs, and PMTs in Prime Video (notably the Prime Video Catalog org), partners in business teams (especially US and Europe TVOD teams).

About the team
The TVOD Commerce team is responsible for the entire rent and buy experience for movies and TV show worldwide. This role focuses on the "TVOD Library", which is the management of titles that customers have bought and rented. The team keeps customers at the center of everything we do. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Relevant engineering experience
· Experience managing engineers
· Experience in partnering with product and program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between.
* Experience with large scale distributed system design and development.
* Experience working with AWS technologies, especially DynamoDB (or equivalents from other cloud computing providers).
* Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team
