Who are we?
Transportation Financial Systems (TFS) is responsible for building technologies that support financial aspects for Amazon Transportation. Amazon’s transportation systems get millions of packages to customers worldwide faster and cheaper while providing world-class customer experience – from checkout to shipment tracking to delivery. Our software systems include services that handle tens of thousands of requests per second and make decisions to pay billions of dollars a year. Our mission is to abstract financial complexities from logistics world and vice versa.

Invoicing Platform within TFS is responsible for generation and ingestion of accurate and compliant invoices in a timely manner. With the expansion of gig economy models and the digitization of taxation laws globally, we have an opportunity to serve a new set of customers ranging from individuals to MNCs working alongside Amazon. We achieve this by building highly scalable, multi-tenant platform components which can be re-used across clients and geographies.

In a nutshell, we provide compliant, flexible and scalable invoicing solutions for our wide range of customers.

What will you own?
You will be working with our product team and senior engineers in building new capabilities and simplifying the integrations for our customers. Building these capabilities for 100s of programs spanned across globe needs not just coding skills, but the passion to Innovate and Think big. Being responsible for multi-billion-dollar worth financials, you build secure, high throughput distributed systems that process billions of messages.
You will enhance our product with new features, engineer solutions to scale up our systems multi-fold keeping the cost low and strive to replace manual actions with ML based decisions and automated workflows.

What else will you get to do?
If you are a seasoned SDE, we will also give you an opportunity to become the service owner of a large Tier-2 service. You will be the gatekeeper for all architectural changes for that large service. We are a platform team and have 100% ownership of all the services we work on. As part of ownership, we will give you opportunity to improve SLA of the service you own, make the services NAWS enabled, drive IMR improvement within that service and build a self-serve UAT platform for that service.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

• B.Tech in Computer Science or a related field.
• 1+ years overall technical/product development experience.
• Proficiency in Java or C++, with Object-oriented design knowledge
• Demonstrates skill and passion for operational excellence.
• Strong in Data Structures, Algorithms

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience designing and supporting large-scale distributed systems in a production environment
• Knowledge on relational and no-sql database technologies
• Expertise in Java frameworks
• Debugging and troubleshooting skills, with an enthusiastic attitude to support and resolve customer problems
• Experience on AWS
