We are looking for a SDE who is excited about engineering services and systems at scale. You'll be designing for the cloud on the AWS cloud. In this role you will be responsible for the architecture, design and implementation of highly scalable distributed systems that provide availability, scalability and latency guarantees. In addition you will be expected raise the standards of the organization by mentoring junior engineers, interviewing and up-levelling the coding standards. Key job responsibilities
· Design, build and test Software Solutions for the AWS Security suite of products. Provide software development expertise in support of AWS Security.
· Directly represent the team to business leader and technical staff at all levels of the company.
· Demonstrate “exceptional†judgment, integrity, business acumen, and communication skills.
· Prepare and present detailed, written technical information for internal and external audiences.
About the team
My team's mission is to define, measure, enable, and evangelize the core enduring principles that raise the security bar across all of Amazon. We build security tooling, services and products that teams across Amazon rely on for standardized reporting, meeting their defined SLAs and most importantly upholding the security standards across all our systems.
· 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
· Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
· Experience collecting requirements and describing software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
· Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
· Experience influencing software engineers best practices within your team.
· Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between.
· Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
