We are looking for a passionate, talented Software Development Engineer who can drive key engineering and business decisions that impact Amazon’s long-term vision, including innovation in the delivery and consumption of media and entertainment. As a Software Development Engineer in the team, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products by developing and integrating Android based features and applications.

You will also take part in pitching, designing and building tools and services that help us raise the bar on customer experience across Fire TV devices.

About the team

We drive Fire TV customer experience by supporting Live TV software foundations in Europe. We own device customisation and onboarding for new markets and regions, channel scan data ingestion & cataloguing mechanisms and Live TV software performance required for delightful Live TV experience. We build and improve software components used for channel scanning and metadata enrichment, conditional access and partner integrations, alongside our own automation framework to enable performance regression detection, continuous verification cycle and baselining. In doing that, we work with our product team, we dive into customer metrics and collaborate with other teams across the company.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Professional hands-on experience in a Software Development role
• Computer Science fundamentals knowledge and experience in System Design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis
• Proficient in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Kotlin, C++, JS or Python.
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and existing systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with any Android apps, Android Frameworks, AOSP development, Android development would be an added bonus
