Key job responsibilities
In the Federated Diagnostics team, you will work as part of one of our Agile teams building a full stack platform based on multiple AWS technologies (S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, and Athena to name a few) that analyse data flows through multiple services and devices giving teams the information they need to: support high value events such as English Premier League, NFL and the Lord of the Rings, measure success and failure metrics, and investigate customer journeys through our products and services.

This platform is the 'goto' tool for all software and business teams within Prime Video and Amazon as a whole. As an engineer on the team, you will be involved in every aspect of the process - from idea generation and technical design through to development and deployment across a variety of technologies - giving you a real sense of ownership. Together we will build systems which meet high standards of performance and reliability and operate at massive scale.

A day in the life
Our teams run a scrum process that allows our developers to focus on delivering features for the stakeholders. Typical days may include writing or reviewing design documents, improving our operational excellence, or coding new features for our stakeholders. Our focus is for developers to provide value for our stakeholders.


About the team
The Federated Diagnostics team consist of 2 agile teams based in the United Kingdom. Our mission is to develop self-service, real-time diagnostic and troubleshooting tools that enable all our stakeholders to identify and answer questions around the customer experience. We are a fast-growing and diverse team of Software Development Engineers with varying backgrounds and experiences.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• Bachelor's degree in computer science related fields OR equivalent experience in software development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience operating and maintaining production software.
• Experience in user interface design and programming languages
• Demonstrated best-practice software engineering including some aspects of agile methodologies, unit testing, refactoring, code reviews, continuous build and deployment processes.
• Advanced coding skills (concurrency, profiling and performance optimization).
