We are looking for a Software Architect in Home, Security and Communications (HSC) who is passionate about leading cross-functional development teams distributed globally and always strives to create efficient and robust software solutions for end-users. Our purpose in HSC is to design and implement Vodafone Consumer products in fixed and mobile devices like messaging, call services, securing home and mobile networks and providing the same user experience across all devices regardless the network or place.
Vodafone is driving forward its strategy to transform from a traditional telecommunications company to a new focus to build in-house new, scaled platforms/services and, by 2025, more than 50% of all employees within Vodafone Technology will work in software engineering.
The successful Software Architect will define the software architecture for HSC Products, contribute to the creation of standard coding practices, guide and assist other software developers in all the software development challenges across our diverse products and tech stack. As the Software Architect you will always ensure the cost-efficiency of our software and stay up to date with the latest developments in their fields as well as best practices within the Vodafone Software Engineering Guild. You will work closely with the Technical Product Owners, Solution Architects and Scrum Teams gathering information and proposing Software solutions. Strong analytical, functional, technical and communication skills are essential for this role.

Apply if you have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in CS or demonstrated experience of Software Engineering
• Experience in developing applying different methodologies like Agile, SAFe and Extreme Programming
• Deep knowledge of Java and other programming languages and the related Frameworks (Spring boot, React, WebFlux)
• Experience in cloud native deployments and environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)
• Experience of leveraging opensource components wherever is possible (Apache, Squid, Consul, Kafka, MQT, Hazelcast, Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra)
