EU ATS (Amazon Transportation Services) is a high-powered creative team which is shaping the transportation planning and execution within the Middle Mile operations network. This team develops and applies innovative transportation management concepts to improve and enhance the transportation network and bring the best customer experience through reliability and cost efficiencies.
The EU ATS TOM (Transportation Operations Management) is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and implement strategic, cross-functional yard management Technology solutions. These solutions will impact EU Fulfillment Centers and Sort Centers.
The TOM team focuses on coordinating the yard activities in the Fulfillment centers and Sort centers across EU. This team is the interface between Amazon Sites and the Supply Chain & Transportation organizations. As a Senior Product Manager you will be working on multiple large-scale Technology initiatives to better manage the yards, increase their throughput and decrease the overall yard risks. You will work on highly ambiguous and complex problems to deliver actionable results and collaborate with other teams to maximize impact. To be effective in this role, you need to utilize business insights and analytical skills to influence business and technial teams' understanding of how they can improve yard management processes. The role is inherently cross-functional and the responsibilities include working across organizations and engaging with other Program and Product Managers, Software Development Managers, Technical Program Managers, Senior Leadership from Technology, Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers and TOM Operations, Finance, Legal etc.
Responsibilities
· Own product management activities for the EU Transportation Operation Management.
· Document and clarify the business and product requirements with the TOM Team, Site Leadership and Supply Chain/Transportation organizations.
· Influence Senior Leadership both in Technology and Business on different aspects of your products and solutions by creating Product Requirement Documents
· Identify, test and validate innovative solutions to radically improve yard processes to meet and exceed the business requirements
· Collaborate with Technology teams for creation of Product Launch and Implementation strategy
· Work with teams across EU region to build and secure alignment from stakeholders
· Travel to some sites to launch pilots.
Bachelor/Masters degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields.
· Extensive professional experience in engineering or product management.
· Demonstrated experience in influencing, negotiating, and collaborating across multiple Sr. Leadership teams in a large organization.
· Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.
· Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule and deploy new feature sets.
· Work and collaborate effectively with tech teams, and launch to production.
· Understand business context to decisions made within and across the organization
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· MBA, MS or hands-on experience in Strategy, Product Management, Operations and/or Transportation Logistics.
· Strong track record of innovating through machine learning and mathematical optimization and their applications.
· Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle.
· Working knowledge of data analytics and experience in SQL, R, or any other programming language
