Retail Banking and Wealth Management serves more than 50 million customers worldwide with a complete range of banking and wealth management services to enable them to manage their finances and protect and build their financial futures. We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Sr Manager, Channel Analytics, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

You will lead a wide range of high priority engagements to support Group Customer Channels priorities (e.g. Role of the Branch, Role of ATM etc.), deliver Channel Optimisation targets and reshape HSBC’s Sales and Distribution channels.

In this role, you will:

  • Spearhead development of well thought-out data & analytics solutions to drive key strategic channel priorities such as Branch / ATM Footprint Optimisation, Branch FTE Optimisation, Transaction Migration, Contact Centre Sales Effectiveness and ATM Cash Forecasting.
  • Structure business problems (e.g. revenue growth, coverage efficiency), define project scope, and translate business priorities and strategies into project requirements.
  • Oversee day-to-day analytics activities and provide thought leadership on data, tooling (e.g. GIS, data science), methodology and advanced statistical modeling techniques.
  • Deliver insights to inform formulation and execution of Group Customer Channels strategies by analysing channel usage/ preference, channel migration opportunities, customer journey and sales attribution, etc.
  • Present key findings and recommendations to senior executives and business partners at Group and market level.
  • Develop a best-in-class team and provide guidance to junior team members
  • Follow through the end-to-end Channel Optimisation journey. Working with market Branch and ATM Network teams to agree on optimisation goals and confirm implementation roadmap and timelines after analysis / recommendations are delivered
  • Ensure that Channel Optimisation cost reduction targets are delivered. Ensure all analytics activities yield measurable benefits via tracking
  • Work under pressure to redesign solutions in the face of ongoing change and iterative development
  • Build compelling business cases to secure funding for 3rd party data / software
 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Have distinctive expertise and advanced knowledge of Channel domains (e.g. channel optimisation, customer journey, channel migration, channel attribution)
  • Have data / analytics experience, including experience leading a team
  • Have deep understanding of advanced analytics techniques and algorithms (e.g. predictive modeling, segmentation, machine learning, text mining, etc.) and statistical solutions (e.g. SAS, Alteryx, R, Python, etc.). Hands-on experience with GIS mapping software (e.g. Esri ArcGIS) and geospatial analytics and modeling highly preferred
  • Have proven experience leading large business initiatives, as well as leading onshore and offshore resources
  • Have good understanding of AI / ML techniques, tooling & applications
  • Global / Regional experience a plus
  • Have exceptional story-telling and presentation skills, with the ability to create high quality materials and persuasively present to senior management
  • Be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have high level of personal commitment to task delivery, leading through personal example. Must have the potential for further development personally and professionally
  • Have strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a dynamic, complex and fast-paced environment
  • Have excellent strategic, analytic and problem solving skills
  • Have excellent relationship building and senior stakeholder management skills
  • Be highly numerate and financially literate
  • Have the ability to operate effectively in a complex matrix-driven environment
  • Have the ability to influence, engage and lead in a positive, inspiring manner. Ability to motivate people to achieve objectives
  • Have the ability to navigate the political dynamics inherent in a large organisation
  • Have the ability to work with and persuade others through influence and negotiation
